Does anyone else remember this film? Or know what it is?

Okay it was about this family that moved onto a farm. And like it's haunted by one of the past farmers who the children thought he was trying to kill them but instead he was trying to protect them. Or something like that. Because his little girl lost her hand in the machinery, and a baby girl died by drowning in the pond, and his son got ran over and his other son got crushed. And he was trying to prevent it from happening again. It was quite a morbid film to be quite frank but anyone else seen it? :S It was some years ago.
